🚪 YOU SAW SOMEONE DOING THE THING YOU HAD BEEN WANTING TO DO

And the wanting went quiet.

Not jealousy. Something softer and stranger.

More like a door closing gently from the inside.

It might have been a post. A friend mentioning she signed up for the course, started the project, booked the trip.

Something you had been holding loosely in your mind, turning it over at night. Something that was starting to feel like yours.

And the moment you saw it living in someone else’s hands, your grip released. Not because you decided to let go, but because something in you may have decided there was no longer room.

THE FOUNDING FATHERS HAD A SOUNDTRACK

George Washington heard it.

Benjamin Franklin heard it.

Paul Revere heard it.

For over 300 years, this was locked inside private ceremonies performed by some of the most powerful men in history.

No recording existed.

No outsider had ever witnessed it.

Until one man… a member for twenty years… broke his oath of silence and captured it.

This isn’t a modern creation.

Nobody "designed" this in a lab.

It comes from a living tradition that predates the founding of America.

The same ceremony.

The same tones.

Passed down through generations behind closed doors.

The man who recorded it says he felt the effects in his bones the first time he heard it. Goosebumps.

Tears.

A sense that something ancient had just woken up inside him.

He’s now sharing it publicly for the first time.

The men who guard this tradition are not pleased.

But he believes it’s too powerful to keep hidden while good people are struggling.

P.S. He’s an accountant, not a guru. That’s part of why I trust him.

🪞 IT CAN LOOK LIKE CLARITY

It can feel like moving on.

You might tell yourself you were not that serious about it. That it was just a passing thought.

That she is better suited for it anyway.

But your body may tell a different story. A slight sinking in the chest.

A scroll that moves a little faster. A tab closed before you finish reading.

What may be happening is not that you lost interest. It is that desire, for you, may carry an old condition: it has to be unclaimed.

The moment someone else steps into the space you were quietly approaching, part of you may read it as full.

Maybe not competitive. Maybe not envious.

Just occupied.

🕯️ WHERE THE CONDITION CAME FROM

This can come from early experiences where there was not enough of something to go around. Attention, space, permission to want.

Where wanting the same thing someone else wanted meant conflict or comparison. Where the safest move was to want only what no one else had noticed yet.

So you may have learned to scan before you reach. To check the room before you speak the thing out loud.

You may notice this in the way you abandon an idea the week someone else announces theirs. In the way your excitement dims not from doubt but from proximity.

In the way you redirect your energy toward something no one is doing yet, and call that inspiration.

The withdrawal is so practiced it can feel like preference. Like you simply changed your mind.

But changing your mind may have a different texture. It can come with openness.

This one may come with a quiet heaviness you might try not to name.

🌤️ NOT A SINGLE-OCCUPANCY ROOM

It is not that you do not want it.

It is that wanting something someone else already has may still feel, in your body, like trespassing.

Your wanting may not have disappeared. It might have just stepped aside out of habit.

It may be safe now to let it step back in.
