When things are not up to par in your financial life, you might think prosperity is out of reach for you, and not a reality at all. If you can’t feel it, see it in your bank account, spend it, or use it, then the word prosperity is just a word and not a reality.
However, there are two things about prosperity that you may not have considered. First, there is a theory about prosperity. And then there is the reality about prosperity.
📜 The Theory of Prosperity
In its simplest terms, the Prosperity Institute defines it as “far more than wealth; it is when all people have the opportunity and freedom to thrive.” Thriving in life is the concept of being able to fulfill not only material needs for yourself and your family, but also other essentials that provide an excellent quality of life: family, friendships, entertainment, books, relaxation, sports, exercise, and whatever inspires you on mental and emotional levels.
💡 The Reality of Prosperity
If you do not have all of the resources required to experience true prosperity to meet your daily needs and to also enjoy life, then you face the reality that you don’t yet have prosperity, and still need to manifest it.
🏘️ How to Make Prosperity a Reality for Yourself and Within Your Community
A person can indeed become prosperous and wealthy in a poor society, but a poor society has inherent dangers. If the basic needs of your society are not met for all citizens, this can result in poor health and the constant tension of community members just surviving.
But to become prosperous in a community that is thriving is more reassuring, more stable, and healthier physically and mentally for you and all who live there. In this environment, you and your family, and others, become more prosperous and healthy. It’s the ‘like attracts like’ principle.
🌟 Study the Great Ones
Successful people are aware of the principles outlined above and live their lives to lift others around them.
Billionaire Warren Buffett explains it thus: “A rich family does not leave people behind.” Buffett explains that a lot of wealth, or the talent to make wealth, is determined by pure fate from when you are born. Not everyone fits into the mold of being prosperous. They simply may not have the education or resources of others.
Low-income parents may have children who are not able to break that mold. Although there are thousands of success stories about a person who rises out of poverty and becomes rich, many do not have the education or environment to achieve true prosperity. They can afford the basics, but sometimes it is not enough to thrive.
Buffett’s advice is to help others prosper as you are making success happen for yourself. Lift up your community as you rise to the top. Lift up your friends into true prosperity by thriving.
Try to help others thrive with true prosperity, not just survive.
💎 Make Your Prosperity a Reality for Yourself and Others
In its simplest form, you can make your life a thriving powerhouse for your family and also for your community. Below are some tips on how you can help your loved ones and your community thrive in prosperity.
Tip #1: Be aware. Are your loved ones or neighbors struggling? Become aware of how they make a living, and you will be able to do a search to determine the basic income of that family. You can do a quick calculation of their income and expenses and make a good guess where they stand. Are they thriving, or just getting by paycheck to paycheck?
Tip #2: Do they have medical issues they are struggling with, including overwhelming medical bills? Insurance does not always pay for everything needed for medical care. Medical bills can be overwhelming when the immediate needs of food and housing must come first.
Tip #3: Become the Warren Buffett in your family, community, and possibly at work. To do that, do what Buffett has always done, and that is give to the community by volunteering, teaching classes, donating to charities, and being social and available when someone needs help. Buffett’s idea that a rich family does not leave a poor family behind is inherently brilliant. It says it all. When you delve into that principle, where does it lead you? What ideas do you get from just that one thought? How can you help a poor family thrive?
Tip #4: Organize prosperity classes for your friends and neighbors. Teach them how to set up an investment account, how to buy stock, how to search for an investment company, and how to manage resources. Schedule a private meeting with any family member or community member who needs a little financial counseling. Explore what you can do to teach others about investing.
🤝 Be Like Warren Buffett
Warren Buffett understands both the theory of and the reality of prosperity. The golden theory is that everyone should be able to thrive, but when someone in your family or community is not, don’t walk away from them.
Walk toward them. With open arms and heart.
Remember that true, thriving prosperity is not only about material possessions, it is about the value and quality of your life, as you help others to thrive as you do.
💛 In prosperity and kindness,
